Gas Turbine and Combustion Engineer:
Join us as a Graduate in our Gas Turbine Combustion team and you'll help improve all elements of the combustion process - anything from engineering assessments and troubleshooting, to R&D and optimisation. You'll work closely with our Condition Monitoring team to assess the health of our operational combustion systems, and be a key part of a commercially-focussed team that delivers outstanding technical advice.
You'll provide technical support and expertise on gas turbine combustion throughout the E.ON group, including combustion system optimisation and health monitoring of several different machine types. You'll define technical and functional requirements for new gas turbine plants and evaluate supplier tenders. But we aren't standing still; you'll also drive R&D projects in support of our next generation of power plant. You'll be integral to aiding, understanding and crucially, optimising the value of future technologies, to see how E.ON can gain commercial advantage.
To join us in this area, you'll need a degree in Physics, Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace, Thermal Power or a similar Engineering discipline. Along with highly developed analytical and problem solving capabilities and be a strong team player. New Technology Consultant:
In this role, you'll be supporting teams that are analysing new technologies to determine whether they are market ready. You'll be integral to aiding, understanding and crucially, optimising the value of these future technologies, to see whether E.ON can gain commercial advantage from them. We'll expect you to contribute to market and strategic debates internally, producing models and reports that allow the business to truly understand the cost benefit of these projects - which are absolutely vital to our future success. You'll also work alongside internal and external technology experts, both in the UK and Europe, helping to identify new technologies that could add value to E.ON's portfolio of cutting-edge technology initiatives.
To join us in this area, you'll need a degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering, or a non-engineering discipline such as Business, Finance, Economics, or in Chemistry or Physics. A strong team player, you'll be internationally mobile, and have a sense of the commercial aspects of business decision making. Drilling Engineer
Working in a variety of different environments, you'll gain rapid exposure to the fundamentals of drilling and completions planning. With placements across all our UK offices (London, Great Yarmouth and Aberdeen), you can expect to work alongside experienced drilling engineers to develop a thorough understanding of aspects such as casing and completion design, well programming and cost estimating. Health and safety is paramount to our business so risk assessment and mitigation will be central to your development with us. We'll want to give you exposure to different elements of the role, so expect a placement offshore on one of our rigs and internationally in one of our other operating units. This will help you to quickly get up to speed on areas such as casing and cementing, directional drilling and surveying, fluids engineering and well control systems.
To join us in this role, you should be expecting a Masters level degree in a relevant engineering discipline (with specialisms in Petroleum Engineering being particularly useful). It's important that you're internationally mobile as you'll need to move during the scheme. Fluency in English and cultural sensitivity are both key (additional language skills in French or Russian would be very useful). If you can also apply your theoretical knowledge in a practical situation, drawing on your resourceful and independent approach, then this role could be perfect for you. Facilities Engineer
This role will give you a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of facilities engineering, asset management and operations. With placements across all our UK offices (London, Great Yarmouth and Aberdeen), the breadth of activities you undertake will give you the rounded skills you need to succeed in this specialist engineering field. From the project management of the consents and approvals process for drilling, to the operational management of offshore and subsurface assets, you can expect to work with engineering experts and to apply your technical knowledge in a practical setting. It's an opportunity to work both internationally and offshore on one of our rigs in order to broaden your understanding of areas such as cost control, managing change and safety and integrity management.
To join us in this role, you should be expecting a Masters level degree in Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering, and have a commitment to global mobility. You'll need to be fluent in English and culturally sensitive (additional language skills in French or Russian would be very useful). If you can also apply your theoretical knowledge in a practical situation, drawing on your resourceful and independent approach, then this role could be just for you. Geoscientist
Based in London, you'll spend your time with us developing your knowledge and understanding of exploration, field development, production and business development. Working alongside fellow geologists and geophysicists, you'll also have the chance to work internationally at one of our other operating units or offshore. It's a great opportunity to broaden your skills and apply your theoretical understanding of this specialist field at a practical level.
To join us in this role, you should be expecting a Masters level degree or PhD in Geology, Geophysics or a relevant discipline, and have a commitment to international mobility. You'll need to be fluent in English and culturally sensitive (additional language skills in French or Russian would be very useful). If you can also apply your theoretical knowledge in a practical situation, drawing on your resourceful and independent approach, then this role could be ideal for you. In return, we'll give you all the professional and industry-wide technical training you need to be a leading expert in this field. In this role, you'll support a team of experts who develop leading technologies in low-carbon generation. Working alongside scientists and engineers, you'll help to carry out plant and test-rig performance assessments. You'll evaluate new and existing technologies, and you'll also assist with interesting projects - like reducing harmful emissions such as NO2, SO2 and particulates.
To join us, you should be working towards a degree in Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry. You'll have an analytical mindset - and since part of the role involves developing software models, knowledge of computer programming (i.e. Visual Basic) would be an advantage. If you've got a head for heights, and you're also willing to travel regularly within the UK, this could be the role for you. Assistant New Technology Consultant
You'll support a medium-sized team of consultants, who are always on the lookout for new technologies to bring to market. You'll work on 'technology domains' and help to develop road-maps, showing how a technology could be commercialised. Working with experts inside and outside our business, you'll gather the facts that determine whether we can use it successfully. You might focus on the commercial benefits (is there a market, is there a return on investment?), a competitor analysis, or any technical barriers. But when the business case is put together, we'll turn to you for this key information, so we can decide whether to trial it, or even implement it.
To join us, you should be working towards an Engineering degree (Electrical preferred), Chemistry or Physics. As part of the role, you'll collaborate with teams across the E.ON Group, so good teamwork skills are vital. Carbon Capture and Storage Analyst
Working alongside innovative scientists and engineers, you'll support a key part of our long-term low carbon strategy: carbon capture and storage (CCS). It's a great opportunity to deepen your understanding of carbon capture. You'll research the latest developments in CCS technology, evaluate the impact these have on performance, and at the same time, provide technical support for our pilot and commercial projects.

Gas Turbines Combustion and Emissions Performance Undergraduate
Our New Build and Technology (ENT) area ensures our gas turbines are running smoothly, across all of our plants. As part of the team, you'll be helping to monitor and regulate emissions - a key part of improving energy production and efficiency. You could be analysing data for compliance purposes, or developing models to improve combustion performance. You might even assist with on-site turbine inspection and testing. It's a varied role, where you'll learn first-hand how to produce cleaner emissions and more efficient energy - and that benefits us all.
To join us, you'll be working toward a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics or Maths with Engineering. But your degree needs to include fluid mechanics, and/or thermo-dynamics and heat transfer. You'll have a strong analytical mindset. Power Plant Inspection Undergraduate
In this role, you'll help to support the inspection activities that keep our power production operations running smoothly. We might be designing cameras that can enter boiler room pipework, or investigating offshore wind farms. Whatever your project, you'll be working with technical experts and stakeholders to develop and implement the very best inspection services. And you'll learn about 'non-destructive testing', which is carried out for the wider E.ON Group.
To join us, you should be working towards a degree in Physics or Mechanical Engineering. You'll be office-based mainly, but you'll be able to work in different environments if needed (including heights, or hot boiler rooms). Good IT literacy is important (experience of AutoCAD would be particularly useful). And we'll be looking for strong report-writing skills - at the end of your placement, you'll write a report that explains what you worked on. Power Plant Technical Analyst
Working as part of a team, you'll help to make sure our power generation sites are running safely and efficiently, right across our European fleet. Put simply, you'll make sure the lights really do stay on - and on a very wide scale. Using software coding (don't worry, we'll give you on-the-job training), you'll work closely with our operational engineer customers as they define their software requirements. While the software is being developed, you'll test data to confirm whether it delivers an instant commercial benefit.
To join us, you should be working towards a degree in Physics, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. You've got strong mathematical and analytical skills, and a keen interest in the energy and engineering sector. If you're also great at project management, and an excellent communicator to boot, this could be the role for you. Renewable Energy and Innovation Analyst
Working in a small but growing team, you'll be at the heart of new technologies development. You'll support teams that investigate whether technologies could, and should, be used by the E.ON Group. It's a chance to be involved in virtual teams and idea-generation sessions, where you'll contribute to the business case for a particular technology - and its technical and commercial viability. The role is mainly office based, but you'll also get to meet leading experts in the field, from both the private sector and academia. Renewable Energy Modeller
In this role, you'll be pushing the boundaries in our meteorological and oceanographic modelling. To build renewable energy farms, we need an accurate understanding of the raw energy – whether it's wind or waves. Working with our experts in this area, you could be helping them to trial new software, or find new ways to produce energy yield estimates. Either way, you'll gain a deep understanding of at least one renewable energy source. You'll also take part in collaborative projects with universities and other companies.
To join us in this area, you should be working towards a scientific degree (such as Physics, Engineering, Oceanography, Chemistry), Mathematics or Statistics. Good IT literacy is important, you'll be keen to learn new software, and computer programming experience is an advantage. Internal Audit Undergraduate
In this role, you'll provide invaluable support to our UK Internal Audit department, and help to shape our business processes.
