Project Liaison Groups

We've set up six Project Liaison Groups (PLGs) covering:

  • Commercial fisheries
  • Business and tourism
  • Environment, Conservation and Sustainability
  • County Councils and Local Authorities (officials)
  • Community (including hard to reach groups)
  • Sea users
Each group is made up of representatives of key stakeholder groups, who have been identified as being well networked within the wider community of their interest group. PLG representatives are encouraged to take away information from the meetings and disseminate it to those sharing the same interest, whilst feeding back to the main group in a similar way.

The PLGs are also useful conduits to identifying hard-to-reach groups, and it is proposed that their experience and networks will be used to ensure that these groups are involved in the consultation process.

The groups will meet around five times over the next two years, including one meeting being held during the community consultation period.
