Holford Gas Storage

E.ON is currently developing one of the UK's most flexible underground gas storage facilities at a site known as Holford in Cheshire.

Once built, the development will be one of the fastest churn facilities in the UK, allowing for greater flexibility in terms of quickly moving large volumes of gas in and out of the National Transmission System (NTS).

Dr Paul Golby, E.ON UK Chief Executive, said: "This is an important acquisition for us as this development will help improve future security of supplies of gas for our power stations and for our customers."
