Sandbach

Sandbach

The main CHP plant consists of a General Electric LM6000PD gas turbine, a waste heat recovery boiler and a 14MWe steam turbine.

Sandbach CCGT

The CHP plant is capable of generating 56MW of electrical power and up to 8 tonnes of steam per hour. The client's old standalone steam raising boilers were replaced with new package boilers to ensure the steam supply was maintained in the event of gas interruption.

The CHP plant went into commercial operation in April 1999, achieving both excellent availability and good performance. However, the client recently ceased production at the site therefore the plant is being reconfigured to operate as a stand-alone CCGT power station.
