E.ON UK

Stills from the E.ON UK corporate video

Corporate video

The film begins and ends with Paul Golby outlining our vision to be the recognised leader in UK power and gas, and our aspiration to deliver clean sources of energy that will serve the country for the next 50 years and beyond.

The film features employees from around the business, who each highlight a separate aspect of E.ON UK's work.

  • E.ON UK produces 10 per cent of the UK's energy
Tony Parsons, Production Day Team Leader, Energy Wholesale

"In my job I liaise with Energy Trading and the National Grid and look after technical performance issues to make sure we hit our targets. I talked about how we relate to people's everyday lives and how we work 24/7 to make the most basic things possible, such as boiling a kettle or using a hairdryer."
  • We distribute power to 4.9 million customers
John Boucher, Restoration Craftsman, Central Networks

"I'm on the road most of the time dealing with loss of supplies. It doesn't matter whether I'm working in a village or an individual property - Central Networks offers the same high quality service to everyone."
  • E.ON supplies more than 6 million customers
Amy Hunt, Business Customer Call Centre Manager, Retail

"I wanted to talk about how Retail is improving customer service and the importance of focusing on customer needs."
  • We connect and service 600,000 homes every year
Tony Barbarino, Heating Engineer, Energy Services

"I visit customers every day to complete boiler repairs, servicing and maintenance.
"I wanted to highlight the satisfaction I get from doing my job. When you go into a home and they don't have heating or hot water, it's great to walk away knowing that you have made a difference; especially if it's an elderly person or a mum with young children."
  • The company is an active participant in the community
Nick Keefe, Technical Analyst, Energy Wholesale

"I support Energy Wholesale's Trading Systems and along with IS colleagues I'm involved in a community volunteering programme at Limbrick Wood. I'm one of 2,000 E.ON employees taking part in community schemes."
  • We are at the forefront of research into clean technologies
Dr. Allan Jones, Manager, Environment and Combustion, Power Technology

"I'm responsible for the E.ON UK Research and Development programme. I was interested in highlighting the research we are conducting into future trechnology options for power generations, especially with regard to renewable energy.
"E.ON UK is developing new options for generating low-carbon power, which will reduce the impact on the environment. Attracting the right skills into the business will help us progress further."
  • E.ON energises its people
Nigel Vardy, Control Engineer, Central Networks, and Steph Middleton, IS Analyst Developer, Retail

Nigel: "I run and monitor the HV network from 11,000 to 132,000 volts. This involves monitoring safety, ongoing jobs and dealing with faults and incidents. I need the same skills to succeed at work as I do to survive when I'm climbing. Both are dependent on teamwork, organisation and helping each other."
Steph: "I spend my days providing website and web application support and my free time honing my climbing skills. Climbing ties in with my job as it encourages you to try new things, helps you to trust others and develops a positive attitude."
